Excessive hair through Thyroid problems.

Thyroid dysfunction and sometimes, it’s treatment, can be a cause of excessive hair on many parts of the body.

The problem itself should be referred to your GP, however IPL is an excellent method of keeping the hair growth under control.

Unwanted hair on the face, neck, chest, stomach, back, arms, fingers, legs and toes can all be effectively reduced.

An initial course of 6-8 treatments will be required to be followed by regular maintenance treatments.

For full information on IPL therapies please see FAQs.

Thyroid associated Acne Treatments.

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when the sebacious glands produce too much oil. This may occur because of hormonal changes during puberty or be caused by conditions that lead to hormonal inbalances such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.

The two most effective treatments are IPL Dealight photofacial technology and Microdermabrasion.

Photofacial Technology is the latest, most exciting and effective procedure to treat the visible signs of acne.

The only medical treatments for Acne are the very expensive antibiotics Erythromycin and Roacutane, however, these are considered too costly by most GPs for immediate prescription. Weaker less effective antibiotics are usually given first which will take longer to work or be ineffective.

Erythromycin and Roacutane also result in photosensitive skin and patients taking these drugs have to avoid the sun, saunas and steam rooms.

Roacutane can produce side effects ranging from serious skin conditions to depression, even suicidal thoughts.

There are also long term medical issues associated with the regular use of antibiotics such as liver damage.

Most clients can immediately stop using Macrolide antibiotics and medicated creams and replace with IPL, a much more natural solution.
